We put a lot of thought into the work we do. When firms see one of our candidates, they know that we choose our candidates deliberately and that the candidate meets our high standards. For leading American law firms with exceptionally high hiring standards, we may only try to place a candidate with them once or twice a year. As a result, when we do present a candidate to them, the firms know that we understand the firm's needs and that the candidate meets their high hiring standards. Because of this, we believe our candidates are looked at more carefully by hiring partners and get more interviews.

 

American Consulting Company was built on the belief that attorneys will seek out the search firm that can best represent their interests. Candidates choose us over our competition because they know that we are focused on knowing our markets thoroughly and serving our candidates in the most effective way possible.

 

We spend a great deal of time with each of our candidates to discuss their particular interests and qualifications, and how these mesh with the firms they are interested in.   We have built our business on valuing our relationships both with our candidates and with the firms we work with, and we continuously work to cultivate our existing relationships and to build new ones.

 

If you are like most attorneys, your job is your life. Getting into law school, becoming a lawyer, and staying a lawyer are difficult tasks. Switching jobs is neither a light decision nor an easy process. We realize the importance of the work we do and take our work extremely seriously. We find or help create opportunities no one else has.


The most successful lawyers are not actively looking for a new position.  They are busy building value in their current firm or organization.  Likewise, the best legal positions are not published or listed on websites or job boards.  They are typically only listed with third party recruiters because a law firm does not want to be besieged with inappropriate resumes.  At any given time, our firm will have active job openings no other source will have.  In addition, we will pro-actively search for all opportunities that are known or can be created in a given market or practice area for all lateral candidates we agree to represent.

   

There are several other reasons why the best legal opportunities are assigned to us. 


Our clients refer their mission critical job openings to us because their time is valuable. They can't afford to waste billable time interviewing the wrong candidates. They would rather outsource a pro-active recruiting project to us and pay a reasonable placement fee for effective recruiting. Because this fee is earned only when we recruit and place a successful candidate, they know we are highly motivated to spend our resources recruiting the perfect candidate.  We will not waste a candidate's time, our time, or their time with matches that do not make sense.
